New U.S Citizen

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is proud to celebrate a very special milestone for one of our own.

Please join us in congratulating Rex Lunghar, a valued member of our Maintenance Department, on officially becoming a United States citizen.

Rex joined TASD full-time on July 1, 2025, after previously serving through Express Services. His strong work ethic and positive spirit quickly made a lasting impression, and we are grateful he is now a full-time part of our team.

Originally from Northeastern India, Rex has lived a life rooted in faith, service, and dedication. After completing his education, he traveled across India training pastors and church leaders through Youth with a Mission. In 2016, he married his wife, Stephanie, and together they continued their ministry while beginning the long journey toward building a life in the United States.

After years of patience, perseverance, and commitment to his family, Rex arrived in America in June 2021 and began planting roots here in Texarkana. Through hard work, determination, and the support of those around him, Rex achieved his goal of citizenship, officially taking the oath on April 18, 2025, in Dallas.

Today, Rex continues to serve our district with pride. As a new citizen, he has taken a special interest in ensuring that American flags across our campuses are properly cared for and replaced when needed, a reflection of the deep respect he has for his new home.

We are incredibly proud of Rex’s journey and grateful for the dedication he brings to TASD each day. Please join us in celebrating this remarkable accomplishment.
